Men’s health: time for a new approach to policy and practice?
In the Journal of Global Health Viewpoints piece, “Men’s health: time for a new approach to policy and practice?,” authors Peter Baker and IRH’s Tim Shand discuss the status of men’s health globally, in terms of mortality, use of health services, health literacy, risk-taking and masculinity, and other gender factors. They share what works with men, and the benefits of improving men’s health. They conclude by recommending that for progress to be made, global health organizations and national governments should address the health and well-being needs of men and boys in all relevant policies, and through the introduction of specific men’s health policies.
