Scale-Up of the Standard Days Method® in Rwanda

Today, the Ministry of Health in Rwanda is committed to giving all women access to modern family planning, including the Standard Days Method® (SDM). Only ten years ago, women in Rwanda were giving birth to an average of six children during their lifetime. And a small fraction—only 7%–were using a family planning method. Studies have shown that SDM helps fill a critical gap in family planning programs since it meets an important demand of women in Rwanda.
